October 2026 dev log, part four: stall doors and water

Someone in the Discord found that water could sink a stall door through the floor and leave an invisible wall behind. Decor 0.3.2 fixes it, brings sunken doors back on their own, and adds wide doors and two new stall styles.

Part three ended with Bedrock 26.60. This one is short, and it’s about water.

30 October: a door that sank

Someone in the Discord brought this one to my attention. They’d poured water near one of their Decor stall doors by accident, and when they went to clean it up, the door was gone. The invisible wall in the doorway was still there, so they couldn’t walk through it or open it.

A stall door is two things: the door you see, and an invisible wall in the doorway that stops you. The water had pushed the door you see down through the floor, and nothing ever slowed it down, so it kept falling under the world for good. The doorway stayed shut behind it.

My first two tries didn’t fix it. So I stopped guessing. I ran a Minecraft server on my own PC, put doors in every kind of water I could think of (still, running, and a waterfall right beside them) and wrote down where each door ended up, tick by tick. That showed exactly what was going on, and the fix came straight out of it.

Decor 0.3.2 is out now:

  • Stall doors stay put in water. Still water, running water, a waterfall beside them: none of it moves a door any more.
  • A door that already sank comes back to its doorway by itself when you load the area, and it opens and shuts like nothing happened.
  • Nothing in your world gets changed or deleted. The fix only puts the door back where it was.

That last part is what I was most excited about. I was worried the only way out would be breaking the doorway by hand, or worse, a new world. Instead I loaded the original world and the door was simply back where it belonged, working. No commands, nothing lost. It’s a very safe fix: it doesn’t touch anything you built, it just keeps the door where you put it.

Thank you for reporting it. That’s exactly what the Discord is for.

Also in 0.3.2

  • Wide doors, 3 blocks across, in every style.
  • The Swoop Euro stall wall and door: the Euro wall with its top rail swept down into a dip.
  • The Crossbuck stall wall and door: pine boards with an X brace under black iron rails, like a ranch gate.

Import it over 0.3.1; everything you built stays.

The barn doors too

The barn doors in Missing Blocks had the same problem, and the sliding ones had it worst. That fix is done too, and it goes out with the next Farm Sim Pack and Missing Blocks updates.

What’s next

  • The livestock overhaul in the Farm Sim Pack. I’m on the second-to-last animal now, and the barn door fix rides along with it.
  • Then the list from part three: the Shire, jump poles in more colours, and the two phone fixes.
